Dennis Andrew Rodriquez

Andrew Rodriguqz is a Laguna Pueblo artist who resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He attended the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Santa Fe where he studied under sculptor Allan Houser. Andrew received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with honors from the University of New Mexico.

Andrew works in various styles of sculpture and is recognized for his unique bas reliefs. His work focuses on the spiritual aspects of pueblo culture with imagery portraying the spiritual emergence found through dance and religion.

His work has nationwide gallery representation and is collected in the United States and Europe. The following are some of his career highlights:

“I started doing all types of art work when I was very young. I was drawn to colors, shapes, textures, and all things visual.”

“I believe everybody has gifts. Whether it be in visual arts, music, or literature, it is a passion you can’t divorce yourself from. It becomes your essence and desire to share and communicate your perception of the world to others through your gift.”

“My visual perception is given to you the viewer to complete the story - complete the art work.”
